The very idea of the present book was born when we, the two editors fromdifferent cities who did not previously know each other, met on a different bookproject and decided to fulfil together our long-time dream of preparing a bookon teacher and learner motivation. Despite our heavy workload and out-of-schoolresponsibilities, our enthusiasm was boosted when we received the first and therevised drafts of chapters from the authors throughout the editing process. It goeswithout saying that the authors’ dedicated approach and care for precision were thefuel for completing our project at an opportune time. The authors, most of whomare known colleagues to us, kindly accepted to write, revise and re-revise theirchapter manuscripts to make the intended audience – undergraduate and graduatestudents, language education researchers, academicians, EFL/ESL teachers, languageschool administrators and policymakers – receive the utmost benefit. We wish tothank all the authors who made great effort to contribute to this work, Prof. Dr.Nurgül AKMANOĞLU, from whom we learned a lot during the editing process, andİpek SANCAR, who contributed a lot during the designing process of the book cover. This book aims to provide insights into more quality educationadministration, implementation and materials-writing by presenting languageteachers, academicians, teacher trainees, and researchers with the most relevantand up-to-date inquiries into teacher and learner motivation.
